Caretaking (or busybodies)

Capricorn wants to take care of people. It shares with Cancer the ‘mother/father knows best’ mentality: having the confidence, care, and a bit of a busybody, that they think other people need them and they want to take care of other people. They want to be needed.

Capricorn doesn’t want to be needed for caring for your comfort or emotional needs. Capricorn wants to care for your career, life directions. Capricorn is especially triggered by people who appear to be lost, going nowhere, or going in the wrong way. They are triggered when people fail to step in the direction Capricorn thinks is the best for them.

Capricorns are triggered when people refuse to grow, while Cancer relish that some people will never grow up and thus will always need them. Capricorn and Cancer both care about people growing up.

Standards

People with a strong dose of Capricorn in their birth charts hold high standards, either themselves or other people. They want the best or to become the best, and they keep pushing and demanding, whether outwardly or inwardly, for the summit.

Unlike Jupiter influence that goes overboard with ideals, though, Capricorn knows real-life limitations or willing to accept pragmatic constraints. The younger Capricorns see that as obstacles to be overcome. The older they get, the more accepting and tolerating they are of obstacles, but they always nurture a headstrong attitude of “I can overcome anything”. That is part of being a Cardinal sign – the innate belief that they get to shape their own destiny in some ways.
